Mountains near Tokyo...
On a clear winters day you can look out of your window in your office in Roppongi Hills and see the mountains around Tokyo. Mount Fuji gets all the attention but have you wondered about the other mountains blocking your view? The Tanzawa and Oku-Tama ranges to the East; on a very clear day you can see Chichibu in Saitama prefecture to the North. A little further afield and you have the Southern Japanese Alps and for the adventurous the Northern Alps, Nikko and Hokkaido.
This web site is intended to help the average foreigner living in Japan get out of the city into the mountains, bringing together resources and experiences to make the trip that easier. The site's not really intended for very experienced climbers or really fit people - I'm too late for that already. Rather it's for the average chump whose had too much of nights out in Roppongi, keen to avoid the wife and kids for one day at the weekend while doing a bit for his mental and physical health at the same time. Read more about it here.
It's also intended to give me a chance to practice setting up a web site!
